Spring Movement Market

This fundraiser in support of Arohanui Hospice and Methodist Food Bank gives you the chance to sample some of our movement classes and feel great, while giving back to the community.

There are limited spaces available so registration is recommended (door sales available on the day, space permitting). $10 per person per session - grab some friends and give some new things a try!

Registrations open from Tuesday September 22nd. To register, email Paula or pop into the clinic at Elements Natural Therapy (43 Florence Avenue) between 3:30pm and 7pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays (except Friday October 2), Thursdays between 3:30pm and 6pm, or Saturdays between 2pm and 4pm (cash payments only).

Class Descriptions
Buff Bones®
Buff Bones® is a fun, challenging workout combining strength training, balance, functional fitness and Pilates, designed to support healthy, strong bones. Searching for new ways to improve your posture while energising and toning your body? Then try this class out. Buff Bones® is suitable for all ages, and is osteoporosis- and osteopenia- safe. Buff Bones® was created by Rebekah Rotstein, a well-regarded US Pilates instructor and expert in osteoporosis and exercise. It targets the butt, hips, arms and back, while giving the whole... body a terrific workout. This dynamic class is adaptable and challenging for people of all levels.


GROOVALICIOUS dance
Simple moves + your own style = an organic dance experience.

GROOVALICIOUS dance is a ridiculously fun dance experience. A whole range of music styles are used in each session, including Latin, hip hop, pop, rock and more, with simple dance moves for each song which you get to add your own style and personality to. With great music and moves, you'll loosen up your body and work out any tension and tight spots, leaving you relaxed and feeling awesome while you dance your heart out. No dance experience or ability required. Our GROOVERS range in age from their 20s to their 70s!
The GROOVE was named by Shape Magazine (USA) as one of the 15 next big fitness trends.

There's no left or right to worry about, so you can't get it wrong! The key is just to add your own style and make it feel good.

Prenatal Pilates
Prenatal Pilates is designed to help keep your pregnant body moving with ease. The session includes breathing and relaxation techniques, pelvic floor exercises, along with gentle exercises to help your body progress through pregnancy and labour (and beyond!).

We focus on strengthening the shoulders and arms so that you can carry your baby (and baby paraphernalia!) with ease, strengthening and stretching the lower body to help with bending down and picking up, and stretching and strengthening your back to help you cope with the changing demands on your body.

Pilates 3D
Basic human movement is three-dimensional and spiralling in its nature. Pilates 3D uses non-traditional Pilates movements, along with traditional Pilates exercises with a non-traditional twist (or spiral!). That way we bring the whole body together as we move, creating more mobility, minimising injury in our everyday lives, and creating strength through movement.

We work through the entire kinetic chain of our bodies, from our feet to our heads. In moving with our bodies' spirals, we help to release the fascia and feel amazing.

This class is open for all levels; no previous Pilates experience is required.

Argentine Tango
This intro class into social Argentine tango (not stage tango! no leaps or jumps here!) will work to introduce you to the rhythm and basic movement of the dance. Our teaching focuses on the embrace, musicality, navigation and enjoyment of social dancing. There are no step patterns to learn (and then forget!), as social-style tango is essentially an improvised dance; instead we will focus on simple movements and technique

It's not at all scary, but can be quite addictive!
